SEO best practices

Get found on Google.

Every Store Builder storefront is statically exported and pre-rendered — already a 100/100 head start on Lighthouse SEO. Here's how to push it further.

01

Set your meta title & description

From Settings → SEO, set your store's title (under 60 chars) and meta description (under 160 chars). These appear in Google search results.

02

Per-product SEO fields

Each product has its own SEO title, description, and slug. Open a product → SEO tab. Use natural language matching what customers actually search for.

03

Auto-generated sitemap.xml

Store Builder generates sitemap.xml automatically. Submit it to Google Search Console at yourstore.com/sitemap.xml — indexing kicks off within a day.

  • Includes all live products + collections + pages
  • Updates every time you publish
  • Linked from robots.txt
04

Schema markup (built in)

Product, Organization, and BreadcrumbList JSON-LD schemas are injected automatically. No setup needed — they appear in Google rich results within 1-2 weeks of indexing.

05

Custom domain + HTTPS

A custom domain (yourstore.com) ranks better than a subdomain. SSL is auto-provisioned via Let's Encrypt. Both are included on every paid plan.

06

Page-speed wins

Static export + edge CDN already gives sub-100ms first paint. Compress hero images to under 200KB. Avoid embedding heavy third-party scripts.

07

Content marketing via /blog

The built-in blog at yourstore.com/blog is SEO-optimised by default. Write 1-2 long-form posts a month answering customer questions — long-tail traffic compounds.
